When i go to multi media audio control theres a yellow !. PLease help me!!

I have windows xp and the sound on my computer is gone. When i go to multi media audio control theres a yellow ! mark and when you click the question mark it says " This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)
WHen I click on reinstall it says the hardware cant be reinstall because wizard cannot find the necessary hardware.
Now what?????

Code 1 usually indicates "The device has no drivers installed on your computer, or the drivers are configured incorrectly."

It looks like you need to install the driver for your audio device. You can go the manufacturer's web site and look under the support/downloads section for the driver.
