Currently running on an Emachines el1300g-02w. IIRC, it's got a 300w power-supply and a 1.6ghz processor (amd athlon 64, forgot the series number), I also have about 1.8 gigs of RAM in it. My question is, (for anyone who's had or seen this computer before) will an Nvidia GT 610 video card be able to go in it? If so, would it boost FPS I'm getting in games like Team Fortress 2, Dota 2, Borderlands 2 and other Steam games? Or would I need to use it in conjunction with a better processor to get more FPS?
Thanks in advance.

What is your current graphics card?
610 is not a gaming card, its pretty much just an adapter to get more display ports. It offers hardly any FPS over integrated graphics.
An integrated Nvidia GeForce 6150SE nForce 430, IIRC. Very low quality gfx card.
cookybiscuit: I see. Could you possibly recommend a potential gaming card this computer could use?
Save your money for a new computer. yours is not really worth upgrading and will struggle with most games even with a high end video card.
Yeah, that was my plan all along, but it's quite a far goal, so meh. I thought I might as well try. Anyway, I don't think a gpu upgrade will help since the processor is so outdated. Thanks for the help, everyone.
