hey guys, i have a 1920x1080 23' TN panel monitor branded by LG equipped
with my pc. so i have an old 1600x900 monitor with LCD panel i think. i've thought if i can mix up these 2 monitors and settings up a dual monitor setup for a higher resolution when playing games.

2 questions, can i set up 1600x900 monitor with 1920x1080 monitor?
if yes, so which resolution will i get?

Solution
Gaming over two different resolutions doesn't work well. Multi-monitor gaming is only good if you have 2 or more of the exact same screens, thin bezels, etc. there is nothing stopping you from using 2 monitors for extra windows real estate, but with two different sized and resolution screens, multi-monitor gaming is going not be a good experience.

so which resolution will i get in games at 1920x1080 with 1600x900? and which res will i get with 1920x1080 and 1920x1080

Just use your higher resolution monitor for gaming, you can expand your desktop to use both monitors for every day tasks. There isn't a point in trying to game multi-monitor unless you have three monitors of the same resolution, otherwise you will have a huge black bar right in the middle of your screen from it being split.

yeah but i want to play BF3 on 2 monitors like that, http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/3461/rotmjuly0603large1ym.jpg

can i do it with my 2 different monitors? if yes so which resolution will i get?

You can but it's going to look like crap. You need identical monitors for anything decent, other wise you get black bars as said, things don't line up, stuff is missing. You can try it and see for yourself, or listen to the advice in the thread.

Yes this will work just fine. I run 4 montiors. For games that dont work well spanned across 3 screens i will play on one screen and usually have tv on another screen, and a 1080p screen playing on another. There shouldnt be any noticeable performance hit as long as you have a descent system.
