hey, I recently installed a SSD and another 1 TB, IO currently have 4 hard drives, but the problem is, right after I installed them, I've been getting CPU spikes and none of the games i play get higher than 100 fps, they usually stay around 35-50, I think it may be too much for an i5 to have so many hard drives,

specs:
2 1 TB hdd
1 640 gb hdd
1 64 gb SSD
2 x GTX 550 ti 2 gb
i5 2400 cpu 3.10 ghz
p67 sli mobo
windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
8 gb DDR3

Hey TJArrow,

Your CPU should be fine to handle 4 hard drives, perhaps it may be a motherboard issue?

Try unplugging the installed drivers, and see if your FPS stabilize.

Did you recently move your GPU? Are you using the aftermarket controller on your motherboard?

Also, could you tell us what your motherboard model is?

Thanks, Dave

Yeah, it's 100% intel chipset powered, interesting.

Have you tried updating the Motherboard BIOS? Does this happen in certain games?

How about overall system performance?

Try upgrading your GPU drivers, that may be the issue.

basically everything was running fine until I fired up any kind of games like l4d or tf2. But even games with less graphic output do it, but not all of them.

I reinstalled the drivers, that didn't help, I'm gonna open it up because I hear a clicking noise almost, and would like to see where it's coming from, because it didn't make that noise previously.

Let me know if you identify it.
