Hi I've been playing Rome 2 on my pc and my fps seems to drop at any settings over high and I was wondering if it was a game issue or if my build just wasnt up to it.

Specs
Amd Fx 6350 3.9ghz
Msi Gtx 760 clocked to 1200mhz
8gb ram clocked to 1600 mhz
Asus m5a97 r2.0 motherboard
600W PSU

All stock cooled

Sorry If i made any mistakes i'm quite new to working with a pc

The fps drops down below 30 when in a battle on very high settings and the same on lower and also I get random fps drops to 5 fps for a second or 2 at random points in the game

That seems a bit odd, game and drivers fully updated?
Have you checked your temps? CPU and GPU.

Stock cooling on the 6350 is likely the culprit, even if you haven't OCd any.

As Novuake suggests, check your temps.

Also, you're the second person in the last hour who I've seen post low FPS question with a 6300 series CPU and nVidia 760. I'm beginning to wonder if there's a correlation.

The FX 6300 and 760 are both very capable for gaming.

Should I try an overclock and if so how much?

Go in appdata\roaming\the creative assembly\rome2scripts and remove everything, then go in your folder where game is installed and start directx installation via redist folder. If your game is on steam do verify bla bla via proporties through library but I skipped that one.

Looks weird but after doing that I'm able to run game on Extreme with 30+, also make sure that shadows are on NORMAL, and units detail on HIGH (dont go more with that).
