Hello, I recently bought a gaming laptop and I have a few questions about it(this is my first laptop, i'm usually a desktop guy). I bought a MSI GE60 2OC-097US.

This is all the specs -- http://www.bestbuy.com/site/MSI+-+15.6%26%2334%3B+Laptop+-+8GB+Memory+-+750GB+Memory+-+Black/Red/1709284.p?id=1219060822971&skuId=1709284#tab=specifications

So my questions; after I purchased it I realized the graphics card ( GeForce GT 750m) were decent but not quite to my standards. I have about a 500-600 dollar budget I want to keep within to upgrade the graphics. How much could I sell the GT 750m for and what would be a good/compatible upgrade within that budget? Thanks so much in advance!

For your partcular model? just because 1 can do it, doesn't mean they all can. And very very few, you can replace the graphics card. I have worked on hundreds of laptops and have seen 1 alienware that you could take the graphics card out. The rest were all soldered to the board.

In addition, just because you can take one out and put one it, it doesn't mean your laptop or the BIOS have to recongize it and it may not work anyways unless you can confirm that your model of laptop supports an increased video card.

Seconds time ive anwsered something similar, 99% of the time you can not upgrade GPU in laptops, in fact laptops are not built to be changed ( a part from ram or storage) if you take a look inside you wil understand why, a laptop is preety much a intire board with verything clusted on top of one and other, it would be very dificult (and stupiudly expensive) to change a GPU, and also,
I DO NOT sugest you open your pc if you dont know what you are doing, it is verry easy to brake or damage parts permantly. IMO laptops are not even gaming tools, the ones that are, come at a heavy price and still wont meet the requirments for high-end gaming. Unfortuantly you have to stick with what you have right now, upgrade is not an option.

i take that as meaning he wants to upgrade the video, and looking at a dissassembly guide online, it doesn't look they can. Only some laptops have switchable GPU's, mostly high end Sagers and Alienware and such.

Everywhere I look it shows that you can take out your graphics card in your laptop and replace it with a better one if it's compatible. Is that incorrect?
