OK guys , i am going to buy GTX 690 , but can i use it whit this computer ? :

M.B : Asrock x58 Extreme 3
Ram : 6gig TeamGroup 2000Mhz
Cpu : Corei7 950 , 4Ghz

i mean can i run games like metro last light with highest setting just fine ? or i have to upgrade my cpu and MB too ?

Solution
does it worth it to change the cpu and motherboard ? i mean i just want to play every game on ultra setting with 1080p and have +40 fps
so should i change the mb and cpu too ? or that does not make much difference ?

and do you think i should add more RAM ? because when i play high end games like metro my RAM only load like 60%

and what do you mean by PSU ?! ( i am not very expert about these stuff )

Ok, for now just buy the GTX 690(GPU), play the games you want to play, see the results, if it suits you, no need to buy CPU and MB right now, if it doesn't then you have the liberty to buy components any time, and they would be compatible with your GPU for sure.

As I said earlier some modern day games will require a faster CPU...

On his system 8GB would be much worse for gaming. @OP Whether or not you can run the 690 depends only on what power supply you have and whether you can fit it in your case, it will work on your motherboard just fine. What is the model of your power supply?

If you are asking about the compatibility of components then the answer will be YES. But if you want to run every game in highest/ultra settings then you have to replace the CPU, cause some games are CPU intensive, and that comes to MB upgrade, meaning replacement of the whole system. BTW what is the PSU make/model ?

If you want more info about which game needs what CPU and GPU, OS, RAM, then go here and have a look for yourself :

Good luck. And don't forget about the RAM upgrade, providing you have a 64bit OS. I assume you have.

As I said earlier some modern day games will require a faster CPU, and it would make a difference. Just check with the link I provided for games, you will know. And see the "recommended" tab for a better understanding.

About RAM : you could increase it by 2 GB max, so it will be 8 GB of RAM, and you will not need more than that. But its up to you.

PSU = Power Supply Unit, in other words SMPS = Switch Mode Power Supply. So just make sure you own a good rated PSU, you will need it badly.

So the conclusion will be just buy the GPU play with it, if you are not satisfied with its results then buy new components. We will be here to help you with new components, of course if you need it. Good luck. May I help you with something else.

What you're saying still has no basis in reality. This is an X58 board. It has 6 DIMM slots. It can take a max of 24GB of RAM. OP, should under no circumstances add 2 GB to his setup.

Ram : 6gig TeamGroup 2000Mhz

So how could he/she using that amount of memory ?
