Gyazo Image

Can anyone tell me why are some icon images turning into 16bit? I have some programs like MSI Afterburner, CPU-Z becoming such.

Its frustrating as i can't see what program i am clicking on.

Will choose best answer!

Go into command prompt and type the following and pressing enter after each line. This will rebuild your icon cache. (last line will shutdown your computer):

ie4uinit.exe -ClearIconCache
taskkill /IM explorer.exe /F
DEL "%localappdata%\IconCache.db" /A
shutdown /r /f /t 00

If that doesn't work try this:

Go into your registry at HKEY_USERS\DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowsMetrics. Look for Shell Icon BPP in the right side. The value for it should be 32 I believe. If not, change it. You may have to restart.

It loaded itself after a boot on the next day. Turns out everything is fine. Probably Windows didn't load it up well.
