I'm all about aesthetics but performance is also a big thing to me. My original plan was the reference design just because it is so damn sexy. I've watched tons and tons of videos on it and my eyes are set for it.

Now I decided to take a look at the ACX cooling design and I found out that it cools better than the reference. Now cooling an expensive card is also a big thing for me.

I can either go for the aesthetics and get the sexy reference design (which isn't a bad cooler at all) or go for the okay looking ACX design with better cooling. Also one thing that makes me not want to compromise for the ACX is that it is an open design so dust can just settle in. That kinda crap bugs me. lol.

More about : evga gtx 780 reference acx design

I'd rather have the cooling over the look, the reference design is prob the only reference design I'd want to buy lol but once installed all u'll see is the geforece gtx and basically small lettering with the acx

Maximum PC did a review on the 780 ACX. Gave it it's highest rating. The board is great. Runs as fast as a Titan, runs cool and silent too.

This may help.....

The card that impressed us the most, however, was the ASUS GTX780-DC2OC-3GD5. The new cooler works like charm, and its performance is clearly reflected by the test results. The card also manages to stay very quiet and offers the best overclocking potential thanks to the new cooler. ASUS earns the Gold Award for its card...... The EVGA ACX Superclocked also isn't a bad card. The only problem is that about the same amount of money will net you the ASUS card, a card which is superior in terms of cooling, noise and overclocking potential.

Definitely go with the GTX 780 w/ ACX http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CUIVSNS/ref=as_li_q... you would be silly not to unless your case is an air tight box.

My case has plenty of room and airflow to go about. The ACX design is way more popular than the reference. Decisions decisions...

You know if the ASUS 780 wasn't so ugly then I would be down. LOL

They all look the same once ya put the eater block on :)

But the thing is.....once installed, all ya can see is the bottom of the circuit board...the perty side faces down

If the underside matters still, the MSI did finish in 2nd behind the Asus

I says here that the asus has the best overclocking potential, but I read that the asus DCII OC actually has a pretty low voltage cap so despite the awesome cooling of the card, it's only capable of being over clocked a relatively small amount. Is this true?
