I have or used to have a R.A.T 7 which worked just fine until not too long ago. I started to notice that I was having a harder time homing into the targets. For ex, I used to be able to snap the reticule for headshots rather easily, now I find myself relying on random luck to be able to land the reticule on the body for a bodyshot. I would have never noticed it if it hadn't been for this game called combat arms. It was there that I noticed that my reticule likes to jump randomly and many times I feel like I'm fighting friction just to be able to make the cursor go where I want it to go. It feels a lot like I was using a joystick to play fps games rather than a mouse.
So, I went on to buy a new mouse, the M7 Thor. I even bought a mat since I didn't have one. There is some improvement over my old mouse but the problem is still there. I tried talking to the Madcatz support but they besically asked me for the receipt to determine whether I was still under the warranty and I haven't heard from them since. It has been nearly a week since I submitted the ticket.
Anyways, I'm starting to think that the issue might not be the actual mouse since I'm getting similar problems with the new one. There is some improvement. The random jumps are less frequent and I seem to have a bit more control over the cursor. Then there is the friction, at times it feels like the mouse/cursor doesn't want to go in the direction I'm trying to make it go.
My DPI is currently set at 4000. On the old mouse I used to have it at around 3600. Increasing the dpi doesn't seem to help the problem but it does increase the randomness.
I have "enhance pointer precision" on btw ( which seems to reduce the randomness by a lot!). I have also tried switching usb ports but everything is still the same.
I'm not sure of what is going on -_-
Hope someone can help. Thanks.
