Guys,

I have a MSI P67A-GD65 (B3) LGA 1155, and just bought a GTX 780. I have not confirmed, but what I have gathered thus far is this mobo and card are only compatible once flashing BIOS. Problem is, once you update BIOS you can't OC your CPU anymore (i5 2500k).

A. Want to confirm this is true?

B. Also since I spent the money on a 780, I want to maximize it, meaning buying a PCI 3.0 mobo. Looking at the Gigabyte Z77X-D3H, will this solve all issues, and will this new mobo be ready to roll and no BIOS flashing?

Basically, I want to take the path of least resistance here. Meaning the easiest and cheapest action to take.

Need your expert advice, thanks!

I mean good match as far as no BIOS flashing required to work? Also, my current mobo only has PCI- 2.0, and my understanding is PCI-3.0 will make the GTX 780 6% faster.

Ok, got ya. Appreciate your responses. I'll update BIOS and see where I'm at. Do you know which BIOS patch I should download?

I went to the MSI site and couldn't even find the BIOS update for my motherboard.

thanks
