First build - suggestions?

(edited for suggested components, thanks :)
Hi folks,

I'm leaving the pre-built world and am going to attempt to assemble my own. Keep in mind that I am a 100% novice to this. I've replaced components before, but never built anything from the case up.
What it's for: gaming mostly. I play.. a lot of games. And I like nice framerates. a steady 60fps in most things is ideal, on high if not ultra. Here is what I have thus far. I have maybe an additional $300 in wiggle room on the budget, but I'd like to keep that if possible.
I know there is no keyboard. I haven't decided on one yet. I have to touch them first. I'm picky on keys.

You're build is pretty good but a 7870 is not going to cut it for alot of games on ultra settings 1080p 60fps i'd recommend a GTX 760 or if you want AMD then a 7950 instead bud
