The main programs I am going to be using for this pc are Maya, Zbrush, 3ds max, photoshop, etc. I have a budget of about $3k, but it would be nice if it were less. So far what I have come up with looks like this:

CPU: Intel Core i7-3930K 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor (but I might wait for the i7-4930K)
CPU cooler: Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BK 78.1 CFM CPU Cooler
mobo: Asus P9X79 WS SSI CEB LGA2011 Motherboard
memory: Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
Storage: Samsung 840 Pro Series 256GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
Seagate Constellation ES.3 4TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
GPU: PNY Quadro K4000 2GB Video Card
power supply:Corsair Professional 850W 80 PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V / EPS12V
optical drive: Asus BW-14D1XT Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer

OR

CPU: Xeon e5-1650
CPU cooler: Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BK 78.1 CFM CPU Cooler
mobo: Asus P9X79-E WS SSI CEB LGA2011 Motherboard
memory: Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
Storage: Samsung 840 Pro Series 256GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
Seagate Constellation ES.3 4TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
GPU: PNY Quadro K4000 2GB Video Card
power supply:Corsair Professional 850W 80 PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V / EPS12V
optical drive: Asus BW-14D1XT Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer

I have been getting help in other forums as well and since this build is basically my graduation present to myself for my last class, I was told that a quadro k4000 might not be the best option. So, I really appreciate any advice and input! Thanks so much.

This is basically the 2500USD build on my website. Adjust it your way , like adding a monitor if needed , better GPU , etc.
IMHO spend the max possible money for the PC as you may regret saving that 200bucks , from which you could have got something better. I know how that ends up.

Looks good for what you'll be doing working with, think you'll be happy with it, know Maya and the others can eat up DRAM quicjkl so smart to go 32GB, so many out there think 8-16 should be more than anyone needs and are very wrong, you've obviously put some thought into this, congrats!
