I recently upgraded to a Linksys EA6200, originally owning a EA4500 which was wireless-n router. I'm looking to take advantage of the new AC technology that my current router provides, ergo I'm looking for an adapter that can utilize the AC 5Ghz band.
So far I've narrowed it down to a couple of choices, but if you have any suggestions they are more than welcome:
1.) Linksys WUSB6300 $59.99 - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Wireless-AC+USB+3.0+Adapter/9404119.p?id=1219015280006&skuId=9404119&st=wusb6300&cp=1&lp=1
This is a candidate because it is ac-compatible and uses USB 3.0; however, I'm a little iffy on this because I currently use an AE2500 usb adapter and everytime I power on my PC I have to unplug it and plug it back in.
The second is an ethernet-bridge (I believe it's called) - the Linksys WUMC710 - $99.99 - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Cisco+-+Wireless-AC+Media+Connector/7008516.p?id=1218837209618&skuId=7008516&ref=06&loc=01&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=7008516&extensionType={adtype}:{network}&s_kwcid=PTC!pla!{keyword}!{matchtype}!{adwords_producttargetid}!{network}!{ifmobile:M}!{creative}&kpid=7008516&k_clickid=2fe55c23-95ab-0c48-6b7b-000050fa6c0e
(both are linksys products because I can only assume that same brand products play better with each other, forgive me if i'm wrong)
I've been doing my research and came across a post that gave a great number of reasons to go with an ethernet bridge compared to a usb dongle. I'm looking for a solution that will be more stable and more permanent so to speak.
Can you guys help me decide on what to buy? Do you have any qualms or issues with one or the other? Do you suggest any other alternative to USB/Ethernet bridge?
I need a new wireless adapter because I recently built a new computer and it's going to be used for heavy gaming, internet downloading and what not.
I rent a duplex and sit right above the router if that info helps. Wired isn't possible since I'm not allowed to drill through anything
Also, the motherboard I use is a Sabertooth Z87. I figured that information is good since I've heard some things like the Asus PCE-66 something has had some major compatibility issues.
Thank you very much for taking your time to read such a long post! All opinions are welcome!
