Don't do a gaming build with an APU.
Go with the Athlon II 750K instead.
It's the CPU part of the 6800K clocked at a lower speed.

And buy a decent graphics card.
Something like a HD 6770/ HD 7750 or HD 7770.

Then you will be able to call this a gaming PC, even though you will still not max out Dota 2 with it.

APU's are really bad for gaming. It might say it on the BOX but its very weak. It can run DOTA 2 but not at max (It will go below 30FPS).

But what I would recommend is to buy the APU then later buy a mid range GPU such as the 7850 2GB.

Well old thread but I read through it finding no answer to what I'm wanting to know. So thought I'd throw down a post on it see what happens...

I have the AMD HD 8670D an you're right it is pretty weak compared to what I thought it was going to be like. Though I'm still impressed it does what it does being integrated. Now on too my question....

What is the best GPU I could add to my build to override the APU integrated 8670D?

I'm not looking for hardcore ultra settings. Just the best I can get out of what I got, that's all.

Someone not too long ago mentioned installing an AMD R9 270 if it would fit in my case.

When you say poor gamers due to their lack of L3 cache do you mean you can't play the newest games at all or you just can't play them at good settings but you can still enjoy them just with crappy grahpics?

All I really care to play is ESO (Elder Scrolls Online) not any Battlefield or Call of Duty Crap lol

APU's are not as weak as made out, they can play BF4 SP at 1080P on low settings and I played BF3 MP on a 5800K albeit lower settings and resolutions.

Id do a FM2+ setup with a Athlon FM2 part 750K or 740 if you don't want to overclock or wait for the richland updates. The 740 is like $50 with that you can throw in a R7 260-265X and get playability in any game you choose.

Well I'm not looking to spend a ton of money an I just recently saw a video on youtube with OEM computers including the exact one that I have. They put a GTX 750 Ti in the computer that I have an said it made many new games play at very playable settings. In fact they stated it was close to being on par with Xbox one an PS4 with the FPS rates.

I have the A-10 6700 AMD 8670D HD 3.7ghz Quad-Core

So I'm now thinking I can just go out an get the GTX 750 Ti an I'll be set for at least decent frames at medium settings on the newer games.

What do you guys think?

Asus M11bb-b06 Essentio Desktop <<< the computer I have an want to upgrade with the GTX 750 Ti

Yeah, I'm still very surprised with what my APU can do. I mean yeah, if I knew computers better I'm sure I could do a lot more for the money I've spent on this desktop but ya know.... not everyone is a computer geek (PC elitist)

I just want to be able to play the games. I could care less about the graphics being the absolute greatest possible quality. I just want it to be smooth an not jittery. Example: Skyrim on my computer even though it says on specs it can play it. The game is jittery an just not enjoyable at all.

It ultimately comes down to your memory bandwidth, adding DDR3 1866-2133 may get you some noticeable gains but Skyrim ultimately you will only be able to play on 1650x1050 res with medium settings, with a Kavari APU you may get better yields.

Your best fix will be to get a H7770/R7 260 that will make Skyrim far more playable at 1080

As in even an old Phenom II X4 965, is better, at same clock speeds. An FX 6300 or i3 4130 are superior as well, and considered budget chips.

Only reason I have the rig I do is because of Microcenter deals, friends wanting to offload used hardware for a cheap price, refurb/clearance specials, and newegg shell shocker. Some parts are reused from previous setup also. There is no way I would have bought all of my rig new at the same time. I am actually quite the cheapskate
