Recently purchased a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2. I'm very much impressed with it, spare something related to the NIC that is just reluctant to work on my recently loaded Windows 7 64bit. . When using the provided Realtek drivers, the process goes as far to starting to detect the present network adapters, before prompting, "Realtek ethernet cable was not found if deep sleep mode is enabled plug the cable".

While I've read up on some previous threads regarding this very issue, most don't seem to offer any conclusive means of addressing the problem. I first tried manually installing the drivers as the FAQ advised. I soon hit a wall, with the adapter's device status being "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". From there, I've tried removing the RAM for extended periods of time, I've also pulled the PSU's connection to the computer.

I'm at a loss, because when I boot the computer with linux mint, the nic is detected immediately and fully usable.

Thanks!

Solution
Check in BIOS and see if it is there. You might be able to set up to work there.

Is it shown in device manager? Maybe you can cofigure it some there?
