Hey guys,
I've got a bit of a simple question here. So, I went out today and bought a new thumb drive to store a copy of Fedora 19 Linux on. I installed Fedora LiveUSB Utility, as directed, installed Fedora to my HDD, then tried to use the utility to transfer the live ISO to the USB. However, the utility does not detect my USB as a removable drive. Is there any way to fix this?
Seeing as I have already use the USB drive, I would hope that I don't have to get another one, since this one was just purchased. If it's the program that is the problem, are there any other that you all recommend?
Thanks for your help! :)

What "error messages"?

LiLi checks the ISO file via md5 to verify what distrobution you have loaded. If the md5 is not what it expects, then it will throw that error message about not being a recognized distrobution
You can verify your download is not corrupted by checking its md5sum against what is listed on the fedora website.

also please verify: have moved the files that LiLi installed to a seperate folder on your flash drive? This will make it not boot...

This very well may be the case. How do I go about un-formatting a USB Drive?
I assume that there is something on it, because although it shows no files in Windows Explorer, there is only 29.7GB/29.8GB free, meaning that there is either 100MB of stuff on it that I cannot see, or it is partitioned somehow.
I could use all the help I can get, thanks. :)

If you use windows:

Use LiLi http://www.linuxliveusb.com/
Does all the work for you automagically.

btw when viewing HDD space is always less than what the manufactuer lists due to the way computers count bytes.
hawardware manufactures typically list 1 MByte as 1000KB, but most OS's count 1MB as 1024KB. You also lose a small amount of space for storing partition/filesystem information.

No, I know that. However, it states that the total space is 29.8GB, which is 2.2GB less than 32GB (which I already know). What I was stating is simply that the free space is .1GB less than the total space, which probably means nothing.
Thanks for the recommendation in the program. :)
EDIT: Tried the program you said, and it seemed to have worked great. It recognized the drive, and the download went fine. However, when I shut down my PC and went to boot from the USB in the Asus UEFI BIOS, I went in and after choosing the USB, clicked the "Save changes and Reset" button. Instead of booting to Linux, it simply gave me error messages and booted to Windows. I have tried manually clicking on it, as well as setting it as the primary boot option (over my SSD). This simply brought up the same error messages. I don't know if I got a faulty download of one of the programs or Linux, or if I'm simply missing something very prominent.
I tend to be relatively good at doing research on these sorts of things, but there seem to be a million different ways of doing all of this, and every one of them is loved or hated by just as many people as the others.
Info: I set the program to show files (as I hate hidden files), and I simply placed them in a folder that I titled "Linux" (for my personal use of remembering). I set it with 750MB of Persistence, and (on a kind of unrelated note) it seemed to think that my version of Linux was wrong... I downloaded it straight from the Fedora website, but it seemed to not recognize it as what it was, and although I was told that I downloaded Fedora 19, the program did not register that, and simply told me that it would try to do it with the parameters of Fedora 19. This makes me think that there is something wrong with the download, although I can't see why.
Thanks so much for the quick responses; it's great to see so many knowledgeable people out here.
Thanks again! :)

Solution

To "clean" the Stick, just boot to windows, goto disk management, right click on the partition(s) and delete them. It should show unallocated space only.

Yes, I realized that about ten seconds after posting this... I took it all out of the folder, set it to boot to the USB first and the UEFI second, and everything works great now. Thanks so much for your help :)
