Hey guyz,
i can't decide which is best for heavy gaming now & for future games which will require high performance for sure !
so, which is better ?
i3 3220 & GTX 650 ti boost OR i5 3470 & HD 7770 ??
both with 4 gb of RAM , no need to worry about the PSU.

Woah there. The 650 ti BOOST (Yes, that part is important) is a completely different animal from the 650ti. It's the equivalent to a 7850, whereas the TI is equal to the 7770. Otherwise, I agree with you.

yeah 650 ti boost is better than 650 ti only ... and you agree on what ? i5 + hd 7770 or i3 + 650 ti boost ?
the best thing as he said is it is easy for me later to upgrade the GPU than the whole CPU.

It may come down to the games you play.
For example in BF3 single player, the stronger the graphics, the better.
In multiplayer you need all the cpu you can get.

If you buy the 3220, you might pick a Z77 based motherboard so meaningful cpu upgrade to a "K" is possible.
But, yes, it is easy to change a graphics card, not so easy for a cpu.

what if i bought the i5 & hd 7770 , will it be enough for the upcoming games like (watch dogs - assassin's creed iv) at ultra setting with max. resolution 1280*720, 26 inch 720p HD tv ?? & will it be enough for future & next gen. games or not :( ??

Who knows what the future will bring?
Your resolution is low so your graphics needs are not that high.
If it turns out that you needed a stronger cpu or gpu, which would be easiest to market and replace?

In the end, your two choices are not that different.
My rule of thumb is to budget twice the cpu cost for the graphics card to have a balanced gamer.
By that rule, the i3 and a stronger graphics card would be better.

thanks mate for help, i think i will pick the i5 for the future & stay on the HD 7770 for 2 or maybe 3 years, then i can replace the GPU with a higher one. It's convenient somehow for me to get an i5 for the future. I can't & won't be able to upgrade the i3 to an i5 later, as you said it's easy to replace the GPU not the CPU, what do you think?
