well the 7850 is 9.25in long and looks longer to me than the 7870. Couldn't find dimensions on that 7870 after a quick google search(amazon has dimensions for the box it comes in). From the pics of your system on newegg, it looks like either card should fit. I'd be more concerned whether that 280w psu inside you system can actually power either card without burning out.
Dual slot should fit just fine. What is your budget? I'm betting that a better card could be had for the price. If you are ok with waiting for a MiR, this card would be a better bet than even the 7870 ghz edition. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127737&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Thanks for the reply, i think i am going to go with the 7870 then. And yes i was planning on upgrading the psu just wanted to make sure that the card would fit first, was looking at this psu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=17-152-028%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20

I know it's not much more expensive but i read through the reviews and numerous people have had problems with it. There are also complaints on how hot the card runs, and since my case does not have much air flow and only has 1-2 fans i am worried about how hot it will get. Also out of 22 reviews a lot of them were about the card failing. Just kind of seems like a big risk to me.
