Hey guys I was wondering if the community here might be able to help me out with this problem. I just got done installing Windows 8 to my new computer I just built today. The Graphics Card is a Radeon HD 6970 if that is needed. I had to go to Radio Shack and buy a DVI Adapter so that I could plug my monitor into the Graphics Card.

Any way my screen has a really nasty blueish/green tint to it. So I tried switching to a different monitor and it looked like it was suppose to look for several minutes. Well when I came a few minutes later even the second monitor had the same blueish/green tint to it. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Could it be the adapter, or something I need to change on the Graphics Card? Because like I said upon plugging in the second monitor it looked perfect for a short while. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I messed around with the Windows settings and it did not help at all. I also found the Graphics Card settings finally and there are soo many different places to adjust color it is not funny. I tried the most obvious ones called Monitor and Desktop color but still nothing.

I mean it is really, really messed up. I adjusted the resolution and I think the screen is really sharp looking now, but the color is so messed up it is hard to look at. Like just sitting in front of the screen the other night to type this out was almost painful.

I am starting to think it is either the Adapter that I used to make the DVI Graphics Card compatible with the VGA Monitor. It could also be a faulty Graphics Card like I have already been told several times. Like I have already said though when I first plugged in this Monitor it looked like it was suppose to for a few minutes. I am pretty sure it was crystal clear with everything but when I came back to play around with it for some reason it had reverted back to the crappy color. It was like the Graphics Card was sensing that I was wanting to it to do that or something.

Also for anyone else I have no on board graphics so it is impossible to test it. All I know really is it is not the monitors.

Does the monitor (what monitor is this by the way?) have its own settings that you can mess with? LIke an automatic color adjustment buttons/settings? cause it seems like that is what its doing, certain monitors/hdtvs like push certain colors more strongly there might be a service menu setting to turn this off too. You'd just have to do some research on your monitor.

I am pretty sure that it was just the DVI Adapter I bought from Radio Shack. I thought it could perhaps be the Video Card because it did not come with the VGA to DVI Adapter like it was suppose to. So I thought it may have been refurbished or something. So I returned the Radeon HD 6970 (Video Card) and got a new one. I can not tell whether or not it was the problem now because I bought a LG 23" Touch Screen and I am just running HDMI from it. After plugging in the new Video Card and hooking it up via HDMI it looks really great. By the way the new Video Card did come with a a few wires to power it and the DVI to VGA Adapter. So maybe it was used or something.
