Extreme ping issure

Solution
Instead of using the ping tests sites use a normal ping command to the default gateway. This is a much more definitive test of the line but since you likely do not have this done for the old one it will be hard to say if it increases.

I would bet you see less than 10ms to the ISP. If this is true then the delay is someplace with how the ISP routes your traffic to the internet.

Unlike wireless wired traffic either get there or is dropped so when you see high latency especially constantly high latency it is due to distance.

So at 4mbps, you got ~40ms, @ 8mbps, you got ~35ms, but now when you move the router into your bedroom the ping jumps to ~75ms? Could be something with the phone jack, try hooking it back to the previous location and see if the speeds slide back down. Also, so if you did a speed test on your computer and on your phone at the same time, the phone gets ~45ms and the computer still gets ~75ms?

That would indicate something is clogging down your speeds at your end...malware, virus etc. Try doing a system scan and see if anything comes up. If nothing there, you could install a bandwidth monitor or a firewall of some sort to monitor your outgoing connections to see if anything is slowing you down.

One a side note, if you are going to black out information on pictures, I would recommend blacking out the IP as well. The MAC address is more or less useless outside of your internal network. Best of luck to ya. - Sub
