Hi There.

I recently purchased new parts for my computer and last night my PSU Blew up (Corsair AX1200i) and was just wondering if this is covered by warranty?

Only had it 3days from new and it blew up when the computer was switched off! so surely they will replace? going to ring them tomorrow when open.

Thanks

If parts were damaged you'd probably get beep codes.

For the CPU and RAM you can try Intel Burn Test which should pop up an error if it seems to be unstable. IBT is usually used to benchmark heating, so be careful about that. Because of its nature, however, it also performs some heavy testing on the CPU and RAM.

For better RAM testing, use memtest86.

To test the GPU, playing games is good enough (if you get any artifacts it's damaged).

If the HDDs/SSDs are damaged, ridiculously decreased performance or not booting up at all.

However, the PSU you got is a good quality one. If it was any cheap one you could've kissed your entire computer goodbye. Your noble PSU sacrificed itself for the greater good of your computer, but it's still a...

Yes it's definitely covered by warranty if it's a product defect. However, I'm not sure whether or not they cover damages to other components, you'll have to ask.

You should also get a surge protector, if it blew up while off it seems like a power surge.

Thanks very much, Im using my old 850w PSU and all components seem to be fine, are their any tests to do (apart from playing games) to make sure all parts are working fine?
