can i use my vizio as my pc screen

ok so I am buying a pre built gaming rig from newegg and I was wondering if I had to have a monitor for me to install windows and boot up or could I use my 32" hdtv

It should automatically detect it as the display, since there is no other display option.

I know that a tv will work I use it with my laptop what I don't know is if I will have to go to settings on the computer to get it to display anything. if I do then I will need a monitor
