I've had a freezing problem for a while where the whole computer will lock up, then restart. I've tried getting it fixed at a couple of computer repair shops, but nothing seems to work. I've been told that each part of my computer works fine on it's own. If you can help me based on this information, I'd be very appreciative.

I've ran memtest with no errors, as well as doing a total clean install of windows 8

That was GPU, not quite sure what CPU is. I don't think it's overheating though, I've tried opening my case and putting a huge fan next to it.

Not sure how many passes, or what that means. It was a month or two ago. It checked all of my RAM though, and said there were no problems.

Alright, I guess i'll try this tonight then. I'll post my results tomorrow. Any other suggestions before I do that test? Also, does it matter if it's memtest86, or memtest86+?

I thought Corsair was one of the best PSU suppliers? What kind would you recommend then? I was thinking about getting a 600w corsair in the next few weeks, but I'm open to suggestions.

Yes Corsair is great, But they do not make the CX line. It has a different OEm which is lesser quality. Maybe cx500 and cx600 PSUs have failed because of inferior capacitors.

Get an xfx550. It is actually a re-branded seasonic unit and it AMAZING quality for price.

Alright, well the memtest I did a while ago was multiple passes, and it did not fail any of them.
Also, I just bought a xfx 650w to test. It should be in my computer by the end of the week, we'll see how it goes.

Alright, I just put in my xfx 650 power supply, and that fixed the problem, the thing runs perfectly.
Thank you so much for recommending that I replace the power supply and helping me out with this.
