Hi,

I was opening my file explorer when I saw two computers listed under "Network" that I didn't know. One disappeared, but one named BOYLE-PC still stayed. I tried unplugging my router but that didn't work. I think it might be a neighbor - but honestly I don't know. Can someone tell me how to remove this guy?

By password, he means have you SECURED your wireless network.

As for unplugging the router. Yes, that actually did work. You have to close and open Windows Explorer again for it to refresh and display what is connected. It's physically impossible to have anybody connected to your computer with the router unplugged.

*So:
1) get your router manual
2) Find the section on setting up a secured network
3) Create a secured network (and write down your username and password)
4) Login to that secure network with any PC or device that uses wi-fi

Other:
1) Ethernet doesn't require a secure network but I believe it's possible for someone to still hack into a wired PC if it's on a network with wi-fi enabled and unsecured.

2) If you are secured...

2) If you are secured already, it's possible that nobody's actually hacking into your computer. You may just be seeing other people on local networks. I only see that when setting up my wi-fi connection however, never in Windows Explorer.

Thank you for your help, but I realized it didn't have anything to do with my router.
Some fella' was connected to me through Hamachi (the program I use so my friends can connect to me and play Minecraft with me), so I just removed everything involving "Hamachi" from my computer (don't use it anymore), and now he's gone. Again, thanks for the help.
