Which should i upgrade first?

I'm planning on upgrading my PC slowly, but im not sure where i should start, my current set up is

CPU - Core 2 Duo @2.80GHz

GPU - ATI Radeon HD4850 1GB

Can you guys give me some advice and suggestions as well!

the only advice I can give you is - you're going about it all wrong

you never want to "upgrade" piece by piece, over a period of time because you always end up with a weak link somewhere

save your money if you can't afford to buy all the components at one time

The first thing I would upgrade is the Motherboard so you can get away from the LGA 775 socket. If you don't want to mess with the motherboard then I would upgrade your CPU to a Q9550 which is about as good as it gets for the LGA 775 socket. What model CPU and motherboard do you currently have?
