Hello everyone, I have purchased a new vga cable for my 5 yr old monitor, the previous one was out of service, the display turned yellow, green. But however, the new vga cable seems to have introduced some new problems.
It doesn't recognize standby mode, if ever the pc enters standby, the monitor displays "check input cable". The worst is, that whenever @ my home a switch is turned off/on, be it any appliance, or lights/fan, even when the refrigerators open the monitor blanks off(it's yet on tho).

So what could be the reason for the aforementioned problems? VGA version problem? and i am concerned of my monitor's life, will it cause much damage to it(since VGA is only signal, i hope it doesn't). Can it affect any other hardware, like the cpu/gpu?

Your monitor can't damage any of the hardware in your computer and it sounds like power is an issue upmost. Maybe try a different 12V power cable to the monitor and see if you still have the issue with it turning off when other appliances are active.

It's not the power cable, its the VGA cable that's causing the problem. I checked it using my old VGA.
