what cable is best for me ?

im putting together a new rig and really dont want to run wireless. i want to run a cable across my house to connect directly to the router. what kind of cable do i buy. ill be gaming and streaming on this system.

im not sure the exact distance from my router and if i guess, id probably be off by a lot. so any help is appreciated. thanks!

Um. Ethernet. Probably cat6 or cat6a, and you'll need to get a tape measure or something to find out the distance.

Cat 6a is rated for 10GbE for 110m, vs 55m for Cat6. Both do Gigabit for 110m.

No real problem for the average person (in fact cat5e is still fine), but you might as well go for the best at a reasonable price. Don't bother spending extra.

Yup, but you won't notice the difference for years until 10GbE becomes common, and even then only long distances. Go for the cheapest, but probably avoid Cat5 and earlier.
