Mechanical Keyboards Are They Worth It?

One word should all be that's needed for this answer: Yes.
Typing is glorious, gaming is glorious, doing near enough anything on the keyboard is glorious. It actually makes it a joy to type, when I got mine I just opened up a Notepad to type because the feel of it is just so nice.
I've recently gotten a mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX Black switches and it's quite possibly one of the best thing's I've spent money on recently. There are various switch types, so best read up on what at least sounds the most appealing to yourself, and go for it.

Thanks a lot for the reply man. An enthusiastic response is what i hoped for. After some more reading i'm really excited to get into the mechanical keyboard realm. I've learned a bit about the switches and it looks like it's just down to preference for them.
What makes the Black switches your choice?
Red looks like the best for actual reaction times, but that is apparently negligible amongst them and it comes down to only the 'feel' of it (which the Red has trouble in differentiation due to its design for just feeling like a normal keyboard so i'm a bit apprehensive in trying them).
Have you tried all of the switches? I was thinking about a WASD custom. Or maybe a Ducky. What do you use and why? I don't mind clickiness, my computer is in my bedroom and i use headphones.
