Cases where you can have 2 fans on the top - if you have no fans there should you put your own dust filter there?

Asking because, in my research into cases, a fair number of them it seems, only have a 'grill' at the top, no dust filter.

I'm not planning on OC'ing my system at all, so was just thinking one rear fan (maybe a front one too) and leaving the other fan slots empty.

So I was wondering, if where the two fans go at the top is just covered by a grill, surely when the rear fan is pulling air out of the case there is a chance that the air which replaces the air inside the case comes from above the case? Which would not be desirable.

Just block it off using a book or game CD case-it stops unwanted air entering the case and messing up the natural airflow.
Most seem to agree it's better to have 'more in than out' to create a positive pressure in the case, as long as the intake fans are filtered you'll only need to keep an eye on the dust yearly.
Unless you have 4 cats in the house...how their fur gets in eludes me!
