hi, I'm planning to upgrade my storage because one of my hdd is clicking randomly when I open my file and I know it's dying...

I'm a gamer and have several games on steam that I installed on my desktop... is this ssd will do goon on my gaming?

That is a good SSD drive. I would say no smaller than 250GB as the performance drops at lower sizes and the cost isn't that high any more. After that you will need to choose a drive that meets your storage needs. If 250GB is enough storage for you then this is a good choice.

Need final confirmation guys:

This: Samsung SSD840 250gb is good, hows the life span of this ssd compare to others? this is my first time buying ssd so I'm worrying about it fails a lot after a few months or so...

the life span is great. SSD's lifespan become an issue when there is 24/7 heavy usage. (such as constantly copy 20gb files)

it will likely easily last 5 years under normal use.

the 840 actually have 3 years warranty, that speaks a lot about its lifespan.

They have a 3 yr. warranty. I wouldn't worry about it.

I don't copy too much files on it, well expect some videos took of mine but I use HDD on this... does it affect SSD as well?

if the life span is 3-5yrs (and up?) I will invest on this one... honestly it's long enough :D
