I want to buy 2 or 3tb hdd. I want hdd for store large files like movies, videos and personal files. I want fast and reliable hdd in minimum price. I'm confuse in choosing between 2 tb or 3 tb. I hear 3tb is not reliable than 2tb. Is choosing 3tb a risk?
and which model of 2/3 tb is best in reliability and performance?

If it is just for files, you ahead and grab a green(or blue if you want a 7200 rpm drive) if you can get a good price on it.

With that cpu, I would say your board is new enough to see 3TB+ drives with ease. Check the reviews on the drives at newegg or similar to see what drives tend to be more reliable.

I have a 3TB red(for network storage) and so far it is doing well, but it is only been going for 109 days so it is still a young drive.

I use a lot of 3TB Hitachi and Seagate 7200rpm consumer grade drives in RAID arrays 24/7 and have not had any failures other than immediate due to poor shipping and packaging. They are both reliable sizes as internal drives and the 7200 rpm all perform about equally well nowadays.

If you plan on a USB drive, good luck with reliability (just scan the storage forum for USB drive issues, and the problem is not the physical HDD itself). For best results always safely eject the drive and don't have a power outage during use of the drive.

I want Internal HDD

If you are installing the OS on it, you will want to avoid the RED and Green drives from WDC as they are slower when it comes to access times.

For storage both would be fine

For the price point, Seagates new drives would be the way to go.

Please ensure your board and OS can use a 3TB drive(you NEED a uefi bios to boot such a drive). If you do not have a board that can take a 3TB drive, 2TB is the only option. please format the drive as MBR and NOT GPT for 2tb drives on older systems.
