Hi, everyone. I just had a quick question about my cpu being compatible with my ram.

I've been having problems with the Corsair Vengeance (2x4gb) 1600mhz ram being compatible with my Asus M5a97 R2.0 and my gpu. I thought the products might have been defective, so I've returned the MOBO once, gpu once, and the sticks twice,(second is on its way). I've even upgraded my lousy psu to the Corsair BS CX600 and nothing.

So here I am thinking that my cpu, AMD Anthlon x2 Regor 270, is the problem. Over at PcParts.com I've noticed that everyone has a quad core and up. Mainly the AMD FX-6300.
So, my question here is;

Should I get rid of the dual core and upgrade it to the AMD FX-6300?

Thank you for your time.

Gpu: Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 Ghz Edition

I've done the memory check and the lights always flash red.
Everything powers on, except I get no signal to the monitor.
It's why I'm thinking its the cpu being uncompatible with the Ram and/or MOBO.

My only problem is when i press the MemOK button it flashes red. I've had someone with more experience come over to check it out and it seemed to only be the Ram that was the problem.
I couldn't get the gpu's fan to turn on until I switched it to the second pci x16 slot. Which I found was weird because even though I've seen posts about people saying not to put it there, its the only way the fan turns.

Maybe a little help on setting up the gpu to the MOBO would be great, since this is my first build.

The CPU is compatible with the mobo as I've just checked and I doubt that it is incompatible with the ram so it may be another issue such as the graphics card? Does it appear to run fine?

Oh, it runs fine. I just can't figure out why it won't show any display to my monitor. Do you think it could be the wire that connects these two together?
And maybe it is the gpu again. I will have to return it if that's the problem.

Yes, do check the cable by swapping it with another. The GPU should not be that problematic though.
Does the motherboard make any beep to tell you of error? You should clear the CMOS by removing the battery or using the reset button then I'd try moving the graphics card to the second slot or another slot as this issue appears to be common on the Asus boards.

It really seems like clearing the CMOS and replacing or removing the battery should solve my problem.
I will update after I test it out.

UPDATE: Nothing worked. Its still having the same problem as before. I even moved the gpu to the top slot, even though I knew it wouldn't work there. Plus i just put my brand new ram into the slots and still nothing.
And to answer your previous question; No, the motherboard does not make any beeping sounds.

I'm thinking I might have to just have a professional to take a look at it. .-.

Do I HAVE to use that adapter? Because I'm not using it, and it didn't seem like a problem. Should I switch my pci-e(not sure if that's exactly what its called) for that adapter?

Hmm, the only thing I can think of thats wrong now is the motherboard. But I will have to get it checked now.
If anyone has any more ideas on how to fix this problem, please let me know.
I will try to send my system in today.
