I have a Dell 1720 inspiron laptop. I removed the 250 gb hard drive and installed a new 1tb hard drive (of course matching the ddr2). I did not want anything off the old hard drive so I just removed it and replaced it. I then installed the vista o/s using the disk that came with my computer. It went through the whole process and eventually, installation complete came up and was checked. However, the laptop then turned off and when it came on, went to the page where the dots are moving left to right, with the words microsoft corporation below them as it starts up on the black screen. Then it went to a total black screen. I can't get it to do anything else. I've tried to do a start up repair but it goes into a loop and stays there for hours. I even tried to go ahead and re-install the drivers but I could never get to the page that my directions referred to. I just tried doing a memory test and it went through 100% but then still went to the black screen with the moving dots and stayed there. Help!
