I plugged in everything correctly the first time except i forgot to plug in the power cord to my 1TB hard drive, so when i turned on my computer it said something like failed to load OS because could not access hard drive (however, ALL the fans and components WERE running, except the hard drive). so i turned everything off again, switched the sata power plug from the DVDRW to the hard drive, because that one reached the hard drive easier.. then i grabbed another SATA power plug (which i had not previously been using at all) and plugged that into the DVDRW, which was then without its own sata cord. So basically, EVERYTHING was the same except 1. i used the sata cord from my dvdrw to power my hard drive, and 2. grabbed a different, previously unused SATA cord to power the dvdrw

Then, my computer wouldnt turn on at all. It still won't. When i turn the power supply on in the back and press the power on the front nothing happens at all.. i switched all the sata cords back and forth endlessly and still nothing. so what is the problem?

are there different types of sata attachments? am i using the wrong ones? why isn't my computer showing even a blip of life when it is almost exactly as it was 2 min ago when it ran?

is the problem the cords leading from the motherboard to the power button on the front of the computer? (i checked these they all seem still to be attached to both their anterior attachment sites and the mobo).

i am at a loss, please help. Heres my setup

Intel core i5 2500k CPU
gigabyte Z68MA-D2H-B3 motherboard
8gb ddr3 corsaire vengeance ram
corsair cx600 power supply
Radeon 7770 HD GPU
Seagate Baracuda LP 1TB Memory
Lite-on 24x SATA DVDRW OEM

I would assume something got bumped/pulled out when you were swapping sata cords. Make sure everything is tight. You can jump the case swithch with a screwdriver where the lead connects to the motherboard and that would eliminate a possible case switch failure.
