Hello,

The issue that I'm facing occurs when I try to re-install win7 from a bootable pen drive: the computer does not detect any hardisk loaded, and asks for drivers or some sort.
I currently have only one drive, the 'C' drive containing the boot and windows files and have used third party software, i.e. MiniTools Partition Wizard and EaseUS Partition Master to make and delete partitions in the past.
Kindly guide me on what can be done here on. I want to do a clean re-install of windows 7 on my laptop.

Thanks..

yes I did that again after reading your post. I use Toshiba Satellite R840 (PT42KE) and a driver by the name 'Intel Rapid Storage Driver' is prescribed for the same. I re-installed it, but it does not yield any results.

I tried that, but it yields no result. After identifying the required driver, I downloaded it from http://www.driverscape.com/download/intel%28r%29-mobile-express-chipset-sata-ahci-controller. The prompt identified this signed driver when I browsed to it in a usb drive, and even operated on it for 10-15 seconds.. but it still couldn't locate the drive. However, I found it peculiar that it shows the 'C' drive also along with the pen drive when I click 'browse'.

Another option I have come across while searching online for a solution is, using the command 'clean' in command prompt, so as to delete all partitions and then trying to install windows. Is that a viable solution ? Is there surety that it will detect the hard drive after that ?
