HP G36 Specs:
Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU T4500 @ 2.30GHz
4GB RAM
Windows 7 64-bit
Video Card: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family
450GB disk space

Pixel Shader version 4.0
Vertex Shader version 4.0
Dedicated Video RAM 64 MB

I'm looking to change my dedicated video RAM from 64 MB to around 1 GB if possible. I recently bought Total War: Rome II and it's running pretty slowly, even on low settings. I used the website http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/CYRI/Requirements to check what the problem was and the only thing it picked up on was Dedicated Video RAM, which says needs a minimum of 512 MB, but is recommended at 1024 MB.

Bearing in mind i don't have much knowledge on computer hardware etc, what would i be able to do about this?. Would I be able to change the settings on my laptop, would i have to install something to change this, would i have to buy a new Graphics Card, or would i have to just buy a new laptop/PC altogether (my HP G56 is 2 or 3 years old)?

Laptops are very limited in what you can upgrade. You would have to get a new laptop. I recommend this one as a solid budget gaming laptop-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834314119
