Hi Guys!

I'm going to be building a gaming/gameplay capture/HD video editing PC with an i7 4770k, an ASUS Maximus VI Hero MOBO, and 16 Gb of 1866 Mushkin RAM!

I've come to the conclusion that I want a GTX 770 as the Graphics Card, but I'm a little lost among the sea of manufacturers, but Galaxy is the most appealing... Do they produce reliable products?

So...

4 GB vs 2GB + 100 Mhz on Clock speed:

Anyways, these are two I've liked the look and price of, tell me what you think. I'm playing open world/FPS games on at least high settings, maybe 3 monitors. I also won't overclock for a long time, but maybe later. (Also I might SLI down the road...)

Also, could someone please explain to me the basics of VRAM? I sort of understand how it might help pushing higher resolution, but I'm still confused...

Galaxy is good. They aren't as popular in North America, but big in Asia and Europe regions know them as KFA2 (supposedly a performance section or something). I have a friend with a Galaxy card and it works just fine. (GTX 670)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe VRAM is needed to store samples, textures and things that the GPU renders before sending them to the monitor. Larger resolution means more onscreen to display, therefore more to render and store.
I recomend you beter brands like ASUS,MSI,GIGABYTE,EVGA Etc. trust me they cost the value, they used to worry about the endurance of things.
About VRAM DDR5 is the fastest of all but here is some tips
the more capacity the more frames at higher resolutions
the more ROPS the more Frames (on same series cards)
the more bandwidth the more overall performance (on same series cards)

Thanks for the advice on VRAM specs! I'll look at those in the cards I'm looking at.

Oh that's good... Galaxy had the highest clock speed and a beefed up GPU and VRAM so I think I might be going with that.
