Hi,

Tonight after rearranging some cables I turned on my computer and the both the CPU fans are running at 100%. I have an i5 3570k with an asrock extreme4 mobo. The CPU cooler is an H100i and I am using the 2 corsair fans that came with it.

I double checked to make sure the fans are plugged into the CPU fan slots above the pump and they are. Before I moved the cables around, the CPU fans were plugged into the corsair pump instead of the motherboard but I rather control them through my motherboard since I am not fond of the link software.

The Bios show the CPU fans are set to automatic with a temperature tolerance of 50C and the CPU temp is only 40C. The fan levels are 9 but (correct me if I'm wrong) that shouldn't matter since it isn't above the threshold. The RPM's are around 2500 for both fans and it is very loud.

What am I missing? I looked through my programs and I do not see anything that would control the fans this way. Thank you

Solution
The level is the lowest speed the fans will run at. So by setting it to 9 your running them at 100%. set them to 1 or 2 and then as the computer gets closer to 50c they will speed up.
