Crazy PCIe Problem

Hi all, I recently upgraded to a XFX 5770 from a 210 GT. I uninstalled all the evga drivers from my computer with sweepdriver and installed the new AMD CCC/drivers. Now, it seems like the PCIe slot that the 210 GT was on isn't detecting my 5770. I checked the card and it's not dead because I just plugged it into my other desktop and in ran fine. When i plug the 5770 into another PCIe slot it works. In the bios, I set my primary display as PCIe but it didn't work. I tried changing the PCIe bandwidth to GEN 2 then GEN 1 and it would still not work. My mother board is the Asus p8z77v LK and I am running Windows 8 64-bit. My psu is an XFX 650w 80+ Bronze, which i know is ample enough.
Thanks.

Yeah I'm positive. I even removed all of the old AMD drivers/wares. I hooked my monitor up via HDMI by using the HDMI port on the motherboard and installed the latest drivers this way. This was because when I plugged the 5770 into the designated PCIe slot, nothing would show up. Keep in mind though, when I used the next PCIe slot, it worked fine but I know the first slot is nor broken because the fan still spins up and it was working then I had my 210 GT in it.
