I'm considerring getting a:
EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX770 Classified 4GB w/ACX
or a
MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX770 2GB Lightning
for a new system

I'll be gaming at 1650x1050 and looking forward to BF4 at Ultra But I simply don't know if the extra 2GB on EVGA is worth the extra 50$.

More about : evga gtx770 4gb msi gtx770 2gb lightining

Yeah but if you remember GTA IV also "required" a lot of VRAM which turend out to be BS more or less.

Depends on how you play it ;) . I like alot of viewing distance, so it helped. And he wants to play on high so i'm only stating recommended system specs, the game is not out yet so no way to know if it will use it or not. But since it will use directx 11.1 features that take over calculations from the cpu, i think alot of vram might come in handy ;) .

calculations would still probably be run by the cards PU. from what I'v seen around the forums at normal resolutions (like I'm running) and single monitor no-one seems to reccomend the 4GB version

Still, it's the recommended system specs for the game he is most likely going to play the most, so it would be stupid to do otherwise. Untill new information comes out offcourse.
