I am looking to buy a new computer monitor. I am fairly new to this, so I have a couple of questions. I will use my monitor mainly for gaming and watching tv. I have had my eye on the Dell U2412M monitor, but I would like to ask:

Are there any other monitors, similar to this price range which are better?
Should I buy a monitor with a built in tv tuner or should I buy a TV tuner card instead (are the multifunction monitors less good)?

My setup (if its relative): Intel i7 4770K, 16GB RAM (Corsair Venagance), Gigabyte GTX770, ASUS Gryphon Z87 motherboard

I think that the Dell U2412M has IPS, I have seen it in the store and it's viewing angles are really good (even though I think it has some coating on the screen which can reflect light from the side).

well if you like it, go for it.

I have a Samsung 1080p monitor with built in TV tuner in my bedroom and really like it. It has all the features a computer monitor would have plus a remote for the TV side and supports PIP so I can surf and watch TV at the same time. Alot less mess than dealing with a TV tuner card that is for sure.
