If you overclock too much you will overcook... 
Like everyone says after market cooling is not needed, you should be fine. But if your gaming it never hurts to get something a bit better than intel, it may extend the life of your CPU to keep it cooler, never hurts anyway, the CM 212 EVO is only $30 and a good investment for an expensive part like the CPU.

No, its not important. That being said, if you're not over clocking, go with a non-k CPU if you haven't already got your CPU. Hope this helps!
