SSD + external harddrive sata

I plugged in my sata drive from an external hardrive i got a year ago, i was told it would'nt have an effect on the computer, but it made it lag and made it extremely slow. Did i do anything wrong? or can i somehow get it to work?

Im using an ssd 120gb but i wanted more space in the pc so i put a 2TB sata

Are you only experiencing the "lag" when you access a file on the 2TB drive? If so, it is probably a green type drive that runs at a lower rpm and parks its heads frequently.

Yea, im only experiencing it when im accesing the drive. But wouldnt i still be able to use it as a storage drive even if its runs with lower rpm?

Yes, you can still use it. It will just be slower to respond when you use a file on that drive -- that is normal for those drives.
