  1. Don'y you keep backups of your folders and files?
    Try recovery software: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/filerecovery/tp/free-file-recovery-programs.htm

Note: when folders start disappearing unexpectedly, it's sometimes a sign that the drive is starting to fail. I advise you test the drive as soon as possible: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287
  2. its' not in the recycle bin? how did it get deleted? look for a free recovery tool, there is lots of them and sometimes 1 can find something others can't, so hard to recommend one as I've sometimes had to use 3-4 different tools to get something back and sometimes it can't. The more your D drive is used, the more the chance that the data is overwritten.
  3. Did you accidentally move(drag and drop) the folder under another folder. I see people do this all the time(they put tickets in to restore a folder), and about 60% of the time I find the folder has been moved.

I've had this happen just with a faulty mouse. Bad left mouse button, and it registered 'MouseUp' before I was ready.

Search for a file you know should be in there.
