i have an i5-4670k and i plan on overclocking it, but nothing over 3.9 ghz. Is a good aftermarket fan sufficient or will i have to turn to water cooling?

Solution

You definitely don't need to go with water cooling. Air cooling will do the job just fine.

For a 3.9 OC, a Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO should be sufficient. If you want the "best" then get a Noctura NH D14. Comparisons here: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/LGA-2011-i7-3960X-Air-Overclocking,3130.html

very well. would you mind posting some decent 30-60$ fan coolers for lga 1150?

Most, if not all, of the LGA 2011 coolers in the first review will also fit on a LGA 1150 CPU. I know for sure that the CM Hyper 212 EVO ( $40) and the Noctura NH D14 (approx. $75) will fit. All of the coolers in the second review will work on LGA 1150 because that is what the review was performed on (i7 4770K). I believe that the prices for each cooler are in the reviews.
