GTX 780 2-Way Sli VS 7990 CrossfireX (7970 Quad CrossfireX)?

I have been thinking about intensely, but I have a reason to pick one of the two choices.

Don't crossfire two 7990's. No driver's work with this and they simply won't play together nicely.

    PS, you owe me $2,000

Thank you, but what about $2,000?
  3. I agree. Do not do any sort of AMD quad-crossfire. It just doesn't work properly.

Dual SLI gtx 780's is definitely the way to go.

EDIT: Whoops didn't see this had already been marked as solved. I still agree regardless though.

Just kidding. I meant I was saving you the $2,000 you would have spent on buying two 7990's only to have so many problems with them.

  5. What if I got three 7970's, would that be better or worse than two 780's?
  6. Worse.

Thank you, your answer helped out a lot, I would give you best answer if I could but I already gave it to someone.
  8. Of course, you an always unselect a Best Answer and choose another, if you think it is warranted.
  9. What processor should I buy so the GPU's won't be bottlenecked?

The best would be a 4670K in an ASUS Hero motherboard overclocked. For some future proofing, you may want a 4770K, for more and more games are beginning to use hyperthreading.
