I want to upgrade to the i7.
I've recent made several upgrades to my present computer:

Acer G236HLBbd Black 23

XFX Double D FX-795A-TDFC Radeon HD 7950 3GB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card (may buy second card to use CrossfireX.)

XFX PRO850W XXX Edition Semi-Modular 80 Plus Silver Certified 850 Watt Active PFC Power Supply

ASUS XONAR_DG 5.1 Channels PCI Interface Xonar DG Sound Card

What I am looking to do is build a computer using the components I have.

SO, case, i7 prossesor motherboard, compatible ram and anything else I may need.

I am a Do It Yourself type person. but have no technical experience to speak of

Solution
But you said you are upgrading. What are you upgrading from? The 530 comes with a Core2 if I remember.

The i7 will not give you any advantages in gaming over an i5. Literally. Its not worth it to go with the i7.

on that works for me, but most of all I do not want to have to buy all new components I want to plug in the ones I have and maybe even add a second graphics card to use the crossfire option
