Very true but it looks like the GA 970A D3P is a rather new board since it only has one bios version. This means that it was introduced recently so there has not been any necessary changes yet. I am guess that the other board has been around for a few years so new boards shipped with newer bioses = new revision.

Revision number does not really matter. It is only needed when minor changes are needed to be made. In this case, I will choose the GA 970A D3P mainly because it has the VRM heatsinks which will help a lot to prevent overheating VRMs.
