I'd like to know most importantly how do *I* find out which processors are best for gaming? as well what makes a 3570K better than an 8350 for gaming when the AMD had 8-core @ 4.0GHz?

like others have said in most games the difference is not noticeable but in certain games, games that use only 2 cores but need a good amount of power intel beat amd by a good amount. but still both cpu's play games great. amd is cheaper, not just the cpu being a little cheaper the motherboards for amd are generally cheaper too. plus you can get a fx 6300 and oc it to 4ghz and the gaming performance will be on par with the 8350. if its in your budget just get the i5 if you want to save some money get an 8350 or 6300 (i'd get a new cooler no matter what because stock coolers are generally loud and not very good.)
Well I have a a rig based on the FX-8350 and one based on the i5 3570K and have found nothing really that makes the 3570K "better" for gaming than the FX-8350. With a really good GPU the FX-8350 can hold its own in any game I have played bar none it is a great gaming CPU. The i5 3570K might be better at some things than the FX-8350 but as far as gaming goes they are both on a equal playing field as far as I can tell.

Amd usually needs a better cooler to keep the heats off.but they tend to overclock better. Some games will runs well on the amd but overall performer would be the i5 due to a better architecture.games that uses 2 cores will runs better on the i5.still u will need a good gpu to make good use of these cpu's.
